Sensei Ivan started his martial arts journey in 1982.  He holds black belt ranks in Shito-Ryu and Shotokan Karate.  He also formally studies Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  Before opening the Karate Academy of Kerrville, Sensei Ivan had a 27- year career as a police officer in Stockton California.  He brings his experience to the dojo floor with lessons on the practical application of karate and it’s role in conflict resolution.
